Internet Network Marketing and Michael Gerber's E-Myth

In The E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber,
Gerber explains why most small business owners fail to build a growing and thriving business.
The reason is that most people start businesses because they simply aren't satisfied with their jobs.
They do not take the time to learn the necessary skills, and therefore fail in running a successful business.
The E-Myth is the Number One Reason for Business Failures One of the biggest misconceptions
about being a business owner is what Gerberl refers to as the "E-Myth." The E-Myth is the false belief that just
because you are good at your job, you are automatically qualified to run a business.
The skill sets necessary to do a job well are completely different from the skills sets
necessary to run a business well. Network Marketing as a Business System
One of the most important skill sets to master in order to run a successful business is how to use and
build business systems. Network marketing is a
business system which can be used by the average person to build their own home business.
It is based on the marketing of a product or service which has been developed by a parent company.
A business owner can start a network marketing business, build leverage through recruiting and build a
successful business by plugging into the company's system. There's one major challenge with this process.
Most distributors enter network marketing with the same mindset as one would enter a job. They fall victim to the E-Myth.
How so? When distributors enter network marketing, they immediately focus on what they can do personally to build the business.
This concept is typically encouraged by their parent company and up line success team. Distributors focus on who they can
show the products and business opportunity to. This usually results in marketing strategies and techniques that rely on the
distributor personally doing the work. This is a classic example of Gerber's technician mindset at work.
Internet Network Marketing Business Model The technician mindset is a concept outlined in
Michael Gerber's The E-Myth Revisited.
The technician is the side of the entrepreneur that simply wants to focus on the actual work at hand. This is exactly
the approach most network marketing distributors use to go about building a business. A better approach is to
follow what Gerber suggests and build a system to run the business instead of personally being the system.
The business model of internet network marketing allows the average network marketer to accomplish this much
easier than the more traditional approaches. With internet network marketing, you can build systems which
allow distributors to generate leads.
You can build systems that automatically generate retail profits in the form of selling information products.
A network marketer should run their network marketing business as a business. This includes hiring support where needed.
For instance, if you, as a distributor, are not good at keeping the finances, you should hire a bookkeeper to
handle this process for you. If you are not good at creating content for your internet marketing funnel,
you should hire a content creator to do this for you. By following the approach of Michael Gerber, you
can become a true entrepreneur instead of a technician running a business.
