Ann Sieg Sparks Controversy With The Seven Great Lies of Network Marketing
September 5, 2008 6:29 PM
Ann Sieg takes aim and fires in The Seven Great Lies of Network Marketing. She gets off seven rounds in Seven Great Lies, and judging from the reaction of the network marketing business community, gets seven hits. The Seven Great Lies of Network Marketing makes old school network marketers howl and new generation network marketers using the attraction marketing model sing praise.

What's the buzz here? How did Ann Sieg hit such a controversial nerve?

Simple, she's pitted new against old. She's like the new kid on the block walking up to the old boy network and spitting in its collective eye. In seven neatly organized thoughts, Ann Sieg summarizes the old paradigm of network marketing (also known as mlm) thinking and outlines the new paradigm of attraction marketing.

The Seven Great Lies of Network Marketing was destined to be controversial. Whenever two opposing ideas meet, especially opposing ideas about network marketing, controversy is sure to follow. But what's really at the heart The Seven Great Lies of Network Marketing controversy are techniques of direct selling. You see, they've changed with technology.

The Seven Great Lies of Network Marketing – Is the New Outlook a Good One?

The Seven Great Lies of Network Marketing explores Sieg's nineteen years of experience in network marketing opportunities. A lot has changed. That change is spelled I-N-T-E-R-N-E-T. You've either embraced advanced internet technology business model, or you're clinging to the old school mlm business building model. Now I know everyone has a corporate web site, but I'm talking about what the distributors are doing for themselves on the net.

Ann Sieg and the rest of the attraction marketing camp are early adopters of internet network marketing. There is a trend for internet marketing to merge with network marketing. They are leveraging the capabilities of the internet much further than their corporate websites ever could hope to. They are transforming the direct selling model of network marketing and adapting it to work on the internet.

That's upsetting and unsettling to the old school network marketing camp.

The old school network marketing camp is watching attraction marketing evolve. Some are watching with interest while others watch it with contempt. To the old school camp, the world is changing before their eyes. They cling to the old network marketing techniques of twenty years ago.

With internet network marketing, the rules have been rewritten. Apparently, this is tough for the old school network marketers to swallow.

To say people didn't find success with the old school business building methods of network marketing is not accurate. People did become successful. They did utilize methods like the three foot rule, names lists, approaching family and friends and buying leads and cold calling.

Ann Sieg Has Benefitted From this Network Marketing Industry Change

Good thing for Sieg, she got into the industry at a time of change, obviously the change benefited her. But while she benefits, others are watching their life work take new forms that they don't understand, or feel comfortable with.

Ann Sieg has learned to successfully use attraction marketing. Is it understandable that those reluctant network marketers would want to fire back at Sieg her radical views in The Seven Great Lies of Network Marketing?

Read The Seven Great Lies of Network Marketing, you must decide.

If Sieg is guilty of anything, she's guilty of being a little less than politically correct in The Seven Great Lies of Network Marketing. The Seven Great Lies of Network Marketing tells the truth about network marketing's current state of being.

The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing: The Lie of Not Having Enough Belief
July 1, 2008 2:19 PM
In the e-book "The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing" by Ann Sieg, Ann highlights the 7 lies that most network marketing distributors are told when they get started in their new company.

One of the lies that she talks about is the lie of not having enough belief.

The Lie: Your Belief System Controls Your Network Marketing Business Growth

Interestingly enough, this lie isn't just talked about in the network marketing industry. This lie is universal in any type of venture in which the sale of a product or service is required in order for an individual to receive compensation.

The lie says the reason you aren't making the money you are looking to make in your network marketing business is because you simply don't believe enough to make it happen. This lie states that once you become sick and tired of your situation, and when you are willing to do anything to change your situation; there is nothing that will stop you.

Success in Network Marketing Takes More Than Belief

What is so dangerous about this lie? Like any other lie, there is some truth to it. However, the truth is not the way this statement is shared with most network marketing distributors. That's exactly what makes this lie so damaging to network marketing distributors who believe it.

Yes it is completely true that when you endeavor to participate in any type of entrepreneurial venture, faith and belief are vitally important. If you have a strong enough belief in yourself, your product and your system, it is 100% true that you will do whatever it takes, as long as it takes, in order to be successful.

It is also true that there are many people in the network marketing industry that aren't successful because they simply don't have the necessary belief. Belief is an absolute requirement in order to be successful in this industry.

However, the way this statement is used for the majority of network marketing distributors paints a completely inaccurate picture of the industry.

Case in point; if you continue to bang your head against a brick wall, I don't care how much "belief" you have that you can break through the wall, the end result will be the same.

You will have a headache and the brick wall will remain intact.

This also holds true for the network marketing industry.

Running Your Network Marketing Business the Right Way

If you are a professional mail carrier, is there a right way and a wrong way to deliver mail? Of course there is. If you are a customer service rep, is there a right way and a wrong way to answer the phone? Of course there is.

There is also a right way and a wrong way to run a network marketing business. If you do it right; you make money. If you do it wrong; you spend money.

The problem with this "belief" lie is that it doesn't take into account the people who are not making money because they are doing the business the wrong way. I don't care how strong your belief level is in this industry; if you are not working the business the right way you aren't going to make any money.

For instance, if during your prospecting efforts you are saying things that make the prospect feel like you NEED them to join, you will always struggle regardless of what your belief level is.

Network marketing is a posture business and you must always have the posture that you don't need any one particular prospect in order to have success in the industry.

So don't fall for the lie that all of your problems can be solved with belief.

In many cases, the problem isn't your belief level. Instead, the problem is you are doing the business the wrong way. Find out what the right way to do the business is. In many cases, using better business strategies will fix any problems you are having.

Belief alone won't do it.

and want everyone to enjoy their level of success too.

"The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing": The Lie That Everyone Is Your Prospect
August 11, 2008 6:27 PM
In the ebook "The 7 Great Lies of Network Marketing" by Ann Sieg, Ann highlights the 7 lies that most network marketers are told when they get started as distributors for their respective mlm companies. One of the lies that she talks about is the lie that everyone is your prospect.

Share Your Network Marketing Business Opportunity With Everyone

With this lie you are taught that everyone you meet is a prospect for your network marketing business. As such, you should talk to everyone you come across about your network marketing business. The idea behind this is if you talk to enough people, you will eventually encounter the people who will join your business.

However, this philosophy is based on a very false assumption.

Everyone that you meet is not a prospect for your network marketing business.

In fact, if you know what's good for you, there are some people you probably wouldn't want in your network marketing business.

Following this type of philosophy will result in many days of complete frustration and lack of success in your business opportunity.

How to Prequalify Your Prospects

In order to be successful in network marketing you must do a good job at pre-qualifying prospects for your opportunity. Otherwise you will find yourself wasting your time.

For instance, there are some people who are so strapped financially that they don't have the finances to get started in your opportunity even if they are interested.

It is a complete waste of time to talk to these people because they simply aren't in a position to take action, even if they like the information they see.

Types of Possible Business Prospects

There are only two types of people who are prospects for your network marketing business.

The first person is someone who is a prospect for the kind of product you offer. The second person is someone who is a prospect for a business opportunity.

When someone is a prospect for your network marketing product, it means that they have an interest in purchasing the kind of product or service that you offer. Typically it is because they are looking to experience the benefit that your product or service provides.

Because a prospect is interested in gaining more energy and you offer a product that provides more energy, they may make a great prospect to talk to about your business.

When someone is a prospect for a business opportunity, it means that they have an interest in getting involved in some type of opportunity that is going to allow him or her to either make more money or experience more time freedom.

The person in this category not only has an interest in an opportunity but they also have the resources to get involved in an opportunity should the right one come their way.

We Can't All Be Network Marketers!

There are also many people who simply aren't interested in a network marketing business opportunity. This is a good thing! If everyone was interested in a business opportunity there would be no employees to provide the valuable functions that we have come to rely on as a society. Imagine being without law enforcement, firefighting, transportation, or garbage removal! So understand going in that not everybody is going to be interested in a network marketing business opportunity.

The bottom line is you must understand that not everyone is your prospect if you plan on having success in network marketing. Focus your efforts on getting your information to the ones who are and avoid wasting time with people who are not candidates for your business.
