Using Blogs or a WebSite to Generate Leads and Make Affiliate Commissions
August 12, 2008 7:07 PM
Creating a blog or website is one of the best ways for network marketers to generate leads and make affiliate commissions. The internet is a large resource for people who are seeking out information on a variety of topics.

Position Yourself to Attract Prospects to Your Network Marketing Business

Blogs and websites allow you to establish your position in the marketplace so that you can build a community of people who are interested in what you have to offer.

By creating content about topics your ideal prospect would be interested in, you create a higher qualified lead and position yourself to earn income even if your prospect decides not to join your opportunity.

When selling anything you always stand a better chance of making the sale if the prospect comes to you than if you approach the prospect. Using blogs or a website positions you on the internet. As a result, prospects will come to your page searching for the information they need.

Blogs and Blogging

A blog is a website that details commentary by an author or group of authors usually in reverse chronological order.

As a network marketer there are lots of topics you can write about that will attract prospects to your products, services and business opportunity.

There are many tools and resources available to you to create a blog on the internet. One of the most common tools used for a blog is Wordpress. Wordpress gives you a great deal of flexibility.

Wordpress is free to use and, in many cases, it already comes with whatever web host package you have if you own your own website. However, it generally requires more technical skill to set up and maintain.

If you are looking for a tool that is very easy to use or set up, I recommend a build your own blog platform like Squarespace. Unlike Wordpress, it requires a small monthly fee. However that fee is well worth it if you don't have the technical capacity to use Wordpress.

Building a Website

In addition to blogging, you can create a website that caters to a specific type of prospect you want to attract to your business. You can build a website around any topic that you want, as long as that topic will attract good prospects for your products, services and business opportunity.

If you have the budget, you can hire someone to build a website for you. There are many freelance websites like and where you can hire a programmer to create a nice website for you according to your specifications.

If you prefer to take the "do it yourself" approach and you would like a solution that is low cost and easy to use, you should take a look at SBI (Site Build It).

SBI allows you to take the knowledge you have in your head and put it on a website quickly and easily without having to know anything about programming or website design.

Site Build It websites are also "search engine friendly" which means you stand a great chance of getting free traffic from the search engines.

Blogging for Lead Generation in Your Network Marketing Business
July 19, 2008 7:55 PM
Blogging is a very effective lead generation method for your network marketing business. There are a number of benefits that consistent blogging can offer you when building a network marketing business.

What is Blogging?

When blogging, you create entries on a special website called a blog. This website stores the entries in chronological order.

Blogging sites index very well in the search engines. As such, when people search for specific words and phrases on the internet, they have the ability to find your blog.

Blogging to Your Target Market

The most important part of creating a good blog is to provide content that would be interesting and add value to your target market. Your target market is made up of people who would be interested in purchasing your services or participating in your business opportunity.

The goal when creating a blog entry is to provide content that will cause those in your target market to say, "Wow! I was just wondering about this. I would love to learn more."

When you get that type of response, you have done an effective job in creating an entry for your blog.

Creating a Call to Action

There should always be some type of call to action on your blog to encourage your prospects to access more information. For example, suppose your target market is network marketers who are frustrated with building a network marketing business using traditional strategies and techniques.

When creating a blog entry for this target market, you might write about how to prospect on the internet.

If you cannot write, it doesn't matter, you can still do this. There are many article and ezine directories that will allow you to take content other people have written and include it on your blog for free. Simply use someone else's content for your blog.

Your call to action should be an offer for your prospect to get more information about the topic or related topic.

When blogging about how to prospect on the internet; you may want to offer a free report that teaches more strategies for using the internet to generate leads for their network marketing business. In order to receive this report, your prospect enters their contact information.

This allows you to further connect with your prospect. You can set up auto responder emails to provide your prospect with still more information. You can set up a system that invites your prospect to contact you by phone. You can even contact your prospect by postcard.

Follow Up and Follow Through

The key is to follow up with your blogging prospects using as many methods of communication as possible. There is a saying in the network marketing industry "the fortune is in the follow up and that saying is very true." You simply never know when your prospect is going to be ready to get started.

Blogging is a great method to generate a list of highly targeted prospects for your products and network marketing opportunity. These are people who have sought you out instead of you seeking them out.

That gives you a clear advantage over the prospecting process because you have branded yourself as an expert who can provide solutions.
