Sieg expounds upon the concept of "education marketing."
This is an idea that is
very foreign to most network marketers. However, if you apply it to
your network marketing business it can literally do some incredible
things for you and your business. Your Business Opportunity
or Your Product? There is a huge dispute that is constantly
taking place in the network marketing industry. The dispute is based on whether you,
as a network marketing distributor, should lead with the product or whether you should
lead with the opportunity. There are many leaders who are adamant about
leading with the product. They argue that the foundation of a successful
network marketing business is the product. If you lead with the opportunity, you are hindering
yourself because it is only by the product that we make money. There are other
leaders who strongly believe that you should lead with the opportunity.
They argue that regardless of what your product type is, if you survey a room and ask
who is interested in that type of product, a small portion of the room may indicate interest.
However, if you ask who is interested in making more money or gaining more time freedom, a large
majority of the room will raise their hands. There are still other leaders that believe
that you should do both. They teach that there are going to be some prospecting
situations where it makes more sense to lead with the product, whereas there are other prospecting situations
where it makes more sense to lead with the opportunity. If you ask Ann Sieg her opinion, she would say
they are ALL wrong! Problem Solving with Education Marketing When using education
marketing, you don't lead with the products and you don't lead with the opportunity.
Instead you lead with information that offers a solution to a problem.
People don't join opportunities just for the sake of the opportunity. They join opportunities to
find a solution to a problem they have. By offering education products you are able to provide
people with a true solution to their problem. One of the biggest objections that many prospects have to
getting started in a network marketing business is not knowing whether they truly can be successful in the
opportunity. Offering an education product solves this objection. How?
Education Products Teach the Marketing Strategy for Network Marketing Success
The education product is itself the solution. It explains the strategy that the prospect is going to
use to build the business to solve a problem. Many prospects go through the initial prospecting
stages never truly knowing whether the business can solve their problems. The marketing tools focus solely
on the product and compensation plan, not on the system the business uses to help that prospect make money.
Providing an education product helps address this challenge because when the prospect reviews your education
product, they now know exactly what is going to be required of them in order to be successful. As a result, they
can now make an intelligent decision as to whether this business is for them or not. This saves both of you
time. You don't waste your time sponsoring a prospect that really isn't right for your business opportunity.
It saves the prospect time by not getting involved in a business opportunity and then later finding out it's really
not right for them. Make the shift from marketing products and opportunity to marketing solutions to people's
problems and you will go a long way to having success and an unlimited amount of prospects to
talk to about your network marketing opportunity.
