Network Marketing Success...
The Renegade Network Marketer by Ann Sieg: What's In It for You?
August 11, 2008 7:25 PM
Ann Sieg's The Renegade Network Marketer has made a huge impact on the network marketing industry. If you have not yet read Sieg's book, you may be wondering if it would be worth purchasing. How would it help your business?

Asking what kind of value you would receive from Sieg's book illustrates one of The Renegade Network Marketer's main themes.

The secret to becoming successful in network marketing is to learn to listen to everyone's favorite radio station. That station is WIIFM. What does that stand for?

WIIFM stands for "What's In It For Me."

If you are struggling as a distributor in a network marketing company, there is a good chance that one of the reasons is because you fail to deal with this issue when you share your network marketing business opportunity with prospects.

This is what Ann Sieg teaches in her book The Renegade Network Marketer.

Customer-Focused Recruiting Methods

Too many network marketing distributors come from a self-centered mindset. The reason they are sharing their business opportunity is because they want the person to join their organization so they can make money off that person's efforts.

People can see right through this and if you engage in the recruiting process with this mindset, your results will be limited.

However, if you learn to shift your mindset from a self-centered mindset to a prospect-centered mindset, your recruiting will triple overnight!

In The Renegade Network Marketer, Ann Sieg teaches the fact that your prospects don't care what you have to say. All they care about is what they want. As Ann says in her book "All good sales and marketing begins by putting the other person first."

Network Marketing Success Means Get Before You Give

How do you put someone first? You do it by finding out what that person wants first.

This is where 99% of all network marketers in the industry drop the ball.

They put their entire focus on giving out information about their network marketing company and their opportunity. Instead, they should be focused on getting information on their prospect and what their prospect wants.

Many of the approaches that we are taught in network marketing focus on US, our company, and our products. Very few of them focus on our prospects and what they want. This is why most distributors have such low sign up ratios and struggle to build a successful business.

Negative Emotions Trigger Purchase Action

In The Renegade Network Marketer you learn that people buy for their reasons and their reasons only. You must learn this and focus on your prospects' reasons for doing things, or you will continue to struggle in the industry.

The Reasons Your Prospects Join a Network Marketing Opportunity
August 11, 2008 3:33 PM
So what are some of the reasons your prospect considers a business opportunity?

According to Ann Sieg, the strongest reasons are triggered by negative emotions.

For instance a father feels sad because he once again has to miss his son's baseball game due to having to stay late at the office.

A single mom feels frustrated because she doesn't have enough money to send her daughter on the school trip.

These negative emotions are much stronger triggers to drive a prospect to action than positive emotions.

Marketing That Works to Build Your Business

In order to be a successful recruiter you must learn how to create marketing messages that focus on avoiding the negative. The Renegade Network Marketer teaches you how to do exactly that.

After all, there is only one activity that we get paid for in this industry.

It's not going to meetings or going to trainings. It's not exposing people to our business or doing a presentation. It's not even asking for the decision.

The only activity that we get paid to do in the network marketing industry is to turn in completed applications with the personal information of prospects who purchase our products.

If prospects don't buy from you, it's simply because you haven't done a good enough job at listening to that classic WIIFM radio station.

The Renegade Network Marketer: What's In It for You

In The Renegade Network Marketer you'll learn how to tap into this radio station so that a greater number of prospects actually say YES to your opportunity.

You'll learn the four reasons why people say "no" as well as what to do about it.

You'll also learn about what type of marketing prospects respond favorably to and what type of marketing prospects don't respond to.

The only way the prospect is going to sign up with you is if they believe that you can deliver what you offer. If not, they won't sign up, it's that simple.

If you want to learn how to increase the amount of prospects that believe you can deliver what you offer, you want to pick up a copy of Ann Sieg's The Renegade Network Marketer immediately. This book will teach you exactly how.

Ann Sieg's View on Monetization as Illustrated in The Renegade Network Marketer
August 15, 2008 4:18 PM

What is Monetization?

Monetization is the act of setting up your marketing and business activities in such a manner that they generate a profit for you instead of incurring a cost.

The reason most network marketers fail is because they spend too much money on business activities that result in a cost to them instead of generating a profit for them.

Eventually they get to the point where they aren't seeing results and they give up and move on.

In The Renegade Network Marketer by Ann Sieg, Ann teaches the concept of monetization by using a system of prospecting for new distributors.

Most distributors spend money to prospect. With Ann Sieg's system, she actually MADE money while she prospected, even if none of the prospects joined her business.

How did she do this?

Fund Your Marketing with an Information Product

She did it by making a shift in what she offers as her front end product.

Most network marketers don't make enough money on retail sales of their product to adequately fund their marketing efforts.

Many network marketers don't even make enough money when they recruit a new distributor to adequately fund their marketing efforts.

Ann realized this and when she did, she stopped offering her retail product or business opportunity as her front end product.

So what did she use as a front end product instead?

Instead she began offering "How To" information in the form of information products.

People get involved in network marketing to solve problems like making more money or how to enjoy more family time. What Ann Sieg does is play on this desire for solutions by providing quality information products which provide solutions to specific problems faced by her target market.

Information Products Are High Value, Low Risk for Your Prospect

An information product is a much smaller investment than getting involved in a business opportunity. There usually is a money back guarantee so there's no risk to the prospect. Most importantly, it builds trust and positions you as an expert. The prospect now perceives you as someone who can help them solve their problem.

Since it's easier to sell an information product than it is to sell a business opportunity, you can make money faster, more frequently and use that money to fund your overall business.

Information Products as Lead Generation Systems

If you could generate 1000 leads a month for your business but you didn't have to pay for them, would you?

I'm not talking about those worthless leads that some lead vendor sells. I'm talking about 1000 people that actually visited YOUR website and personally filled out their information. Would that be something you would be interested in?

Of course you would!

What would 1000 leads a month do for your posture? Would you care if one of those leads weren't interested in joining your business? Would you even care that your broke Uncle Bob wasn't interested in joining your business?

Of course you wouldn't!

Why? You wouldn't care because you would have so many prospects for your business you would never be able to talk to them all yourself even if you wanted to. Therefore you would have no choice but to only spend your time with the most serious and interested prospects and not worry about the rest.

This is the key to the monetization process and once you master it, network marketing becomes fun and exciting instead of boring and a chore.

Get Your Network Marketing Prospects To Sell Themselves with Education Marketing
August 12, 2008 3:37 PM
In her book The Renegade Network Marketer, Ann Sieg expounds upon the concept of "education marketing."

This is an idea that is very foreign to most network marketers. However, if you apply it to your network marketing business it can literally do some incredible things for you and your business.

Your Business Opportunity or Your Product?

There is a huge dispute that is constantly taking place in the network marketing industry. The dispute is based on whether you, as a network marketing distributor, should lead with the product or whether you should lead with the opportunity.

There are many leaders who are adamant about leading with the product.

They argue that the foundation of a successful network marketing business is the product. If you lead with the opportunity, you are hindering yourself because it is only by the product that we make money.

There are other leaders who strongly believe that you should lead with the opportunity.

They argue that regardless of what your product type is, if you survey a room and ask who is interested in that type of product, a small portion of the room may indicate interest.

However, if you ask who is interested in making more money or gaining more time freedom, a large majority of the room will raise their hands.

There are still other leaders that believe that you should do both.

They teach that there are going to be some prospecting situations where it makes more sense to lead with the product, whereas there are other prospecting situations where it makes more sense to lead with the opportunity.

If you ask Ann Sieg her opinion, she would say they are ALL wrong!

Problem Solving with Education Marketing

When using education marketing, you don't lead with the products and you don't lead with the opportunity. Instead you lead with information that offers a solution to a problem.

People don't join opportunities just for the sake of the opportunity. They join opportunities to find a solution to a problem they have.

By offering education products you are able to provide people with a true solution to their problem. One of the biggest objections that many prospects have to getting started in a network marketing business is not knowing whether they truly can be successful in the opportunity.

Offering an education product solves this objection.

How?

Education Products Teach the Marketing Strategy for Network Marketing Success

The education product is itself the solution. It explains the strategy that the prospect is going to use to build the business to solve a problem.

Many prospects go through the initial prospecting stages never truly knowing whether the business can solve their problems. The marketing tools focus solely on the product and compensation plan, not on the system the business uses to help that prospect make money.

Providing an education product helps address this challenge because when the prospect reviews your education product, they now know exactly what is going to be required of them in order to be successful. As a result, they can now make an intelligent decision as to whether this business is for them or not.

This saves both of you time.

You don't waste your time sponsoring a prospect that really isn't right for your business opportunity. It saves the prospect time by not getting involved in a business opportunity and then later finding out it's really not right for them.

Make the shift from marketing products and opportunity to marketing solutions to people's problems and you will go a long way to having success and an unlimited amount of prospects to talk to about your network marketing opportunity.

The Renegade Network Marketer 'Puts the Prospect First'

Who wouldn't want to deal with people more effectively? In Ann Sieg's The Renegade Network Marketer, Sieg gives you insight into doing just that. She shares getting your customer or prospect to 'feel good' about talking to you.

The Renegade Network Marketer takes a bold approach in saying "... your prospect does not care what you have to say..." You may want to read that twice. It really sums up the predominant and historical interaction between prospect and network marketer. This has long been a problem that needed to be addressed for aspiring network marketers.

Truth is prospects really don't care what we have to say, and many of them don't care what we're selling. But as Ann Sieg says in The Renegade Network Marketer, they do care about what's in it for them. So that's what you lead with.

People buy for their own good reasons, not ours. So we may have to go back and relearn a little bit about our sales techniques. Like Ann Sieg say's, we need to "...begin by putting the other person first..." Part of this customer relations technique is learning to focus the conversation on the prospect, not on ourselves or our product and opportunity.

The habit of talking about yourself all the time is hard to "unlearn". How do you carry on a conversation with someone, keep it focused on them yet end up with an order at the same time?

Ask more questions!

After reading The Renegade Network Marketer, you will realize that people respond well if they are talking about themselves. That's how you get someone to 'feel good' about talking to you. You make the conversation about them. Ann Sieg quotes Dale Carnegie when he says:

"You can make more friends in two months by becoming more interested in other people than you can in two years by trying to get people interested in you."

That was good insight. And when you use the technique of asking questions rather than droning on and on yourself, you will notice that talking with prospects is different. They're actually interested in the conversation. The "deer in the headlights" feeling has gone away.

Prospects respond much better when you coordinate and facilitate the conversation rather than dominate it. This is a one of many pivotal lessons in The Renegade Network Marketer.
